A true expression of Dominican and Haitian contemporary art… MORE
Located in what is usually known as a “barrio” in the Dominican culture you will find this surprisingly unique art gallery exhibiting contemporary Dominican and Haitian paintings and sculptures.
The gallery’s director, Manuel Bolos, is extremely knowledgeable and particularly involved in the Haitian art scene, making regular trips thru Haiti to find the most exciting new artists.
While not a fancy modern gallery and being located in an area where tourists would not typically go, a visit to the Bolos Gallery is a great experience and an education in the art of the whole island. Also visit his craft shop right next to the gallery where you might find the perfect souvenir.
Hours:
Mondays – Saturdays : 9am – 6pm
Address: Isabel La Católica and General Cabral, Zona Colonial, Santo Domingo.
