The family-run classic, Meson Di Bari, has offered renditions of traditional Dominican dishes for over 30 years in an old house with dining rooms lined with framed paintings. The owner José Julio Mejilla “Cookie” still serves many of the original recipes that his grandmother prepared when the restaurant started. With his colorful paintings on the walls, there is an ambiance that feels like you are in his home.
This restaurant is frequented by many locals as well as important national and international figures including famous painters, baseball players and the Dominican fashion designer Oscar de la Renta. Sit upstairs on a weekend afternoon and enjoy the atmosphere with light pouring in, relaxing music and great Dominican food.
